RIR Power Electronics Limited was formerly incorporated as Ruttonsha International Rectifier Limited in 1969 in collaboration with International Rectifier Corporation, US, for the manufacture of power semiconductor devices, and thereafter was converted into a public limited company in March, 1986. Subsequently, the name of the Company was changed from Ruttonsha International Rectifier Limited to RIR Power Electronics Limited effective from 17 November, 2022.Company engaged in the manufacturing of Semiconductor devices like Diodes, Thyristors, Power Modules, Bridge Rectifiers and High Power Equipments like High Current Rectifiers, Battery Chargers, Rectifier Panels, High Power Stacks and Assembly. The Companys products are used for Industrial applications in diverse sectors such as Railways, Induction Furnace, Electricity and Power Generation, Engineering, Water Treatment, Metals, Defence, Automobiles, Oil and Gas plants, Welding Equipments, Aviation etc. The company made its maiden public offer in 1986. Initially situated at Vikhroli, Bombay, the companys unit was later on shifted to Halol, Gujarat. It came up with a rights issue in Sep.93 to partfinance the additional working capital requirements and to finance new machinery for the indigenisation of its products.The association with International Rectifier, the US collaborator, ended in 1995, and the complete technical knowhow for the silicon controlled rectifier had been handed over to the company. The company received a technical knowhow for Silicon Rectifiers and Silicon Controlled Rectifiers upto 30mm devices from M/s International Rectifier Corporation,California USA.During year 200809, the Scheme of Amalgamation of Orient Semiconductors Private Limited into the Company was implemented and made effective from 1 April 2007. In consideration of the said Scheme, 125 Equity Shares of Rs. 10/ each of the Company were allotted for every 100 Equity Shares held in OSPL to the eligible shareholders aggregating to 37,50,000 Equity Shares.During the year 202122, the Company acquired 100% stake in Visicon Power Electronics Private Limited by acquiring 2,103,834 of 10/ each and resulting it became a subsidiary of the Company w.e.f. 1 January, 2022.In 2024, Company has fabricated 77MM/100MM / 125MM device (SCR as well as Diode) upto 5000V. It completed assembly for Electro Magnetic Rail Gun using 125 MM Device, secured project for electro magnetic launching system using 100MM SCR, completed rectifier system using 77MM for Nuclear Power Corporation of India, commissioned soft starter for 1250KW Wind Turbine with SCR Modules, completed Dumper Electrification for Coal Mine with 100MM Diode supplied manufactured 24 Pulse DC Rectifier for Electrolysis Application (Hydrogenation / Electro Chlorination) for various power plants and oil refineries with 77MM 100MM Devices.The Company established Indias first endtoend Silicon Carbide (SiC) fabrication plant in Odisha in FY 2025.

For the full year FY2025–2026, revenue reached ₹88.25 crore and profit touched at ₹7.63 crore.
